So I just spend my whole day running through your series. I have to be honest, I don't usually like nor read a story made about an Original Character, because more often it turn to be a very bad Mary sue or something like the style. However, your stories make perfect sense and are amazingly well written. Alex/Seeker is such a fantastic character! The perfect mix between destiny and sci-fi. Love every story you included in this series, and I will love to read how Allison finds out he's not human at all, if she ever finds out. Even if I would love to read this, I'm still debating if she should find out or not, keeping Alex's humanity for a little bit more. Also, I would love to read that moment, angsty and everything, about how Alex finally become The Seeker. Another amazing part of the story is the Doctor's part on it: Alex's love/hate, how he is the not-fun parent, how he is doing exactly the same the Time Lords made to him... I really like Allison, but I believe the best story of all of them is "Allien Abduction", just to see the duality of Alex at the same time, son of a evil mastermind, raised by the Universal Hero... I'm rambling now, but your story is so good I can't help it. Finally, thank you for writing this, taking your time to do it.
Author's Response: OK, I’ve just woken up, but I wanted to respond immediately, because this has made my month! First of all, thank you *so* much for reading everything (and I’m almost surprised it only took you a day - it seems to be endless, and there’s more stories to come! No really, I’ve got the Seeker’s life planned out to the Fourth Regeneration), and especially for taking to Alex/the Seeker so much. I’m not generally one for OCs myself, but he literally just *grew*, sprouting character traits in ways I’d never foreseen, and all I could do was just to keep writing... Re. Allison, then that’s a very perceptive observation - which of course ties in with ‘becoming’ the Seeker. This is sort of threefold? He *literally* becomes the Seeker when he looks into the Untempered Schism and finds out who he is, age eight; but - as you point out - he is living on Earth and ‘Alex’ is a huge part of who he is. Then there is the fact that a great part of it is just growing *into* the Seeker over time. But yes, there is a scene coming in a future story that you could see as the moment when he *becomes* the Seeker. Also thanks for commenting on the Doctor and his unenviable role... This was the springboard for the whole thing initially - how *would* the Doctor fare as a parental figure? Especially for the son of his oldest enemy? It’s a very fraught relationship in many ways, and poor Alex is of course caught between his two father-figures, trying to forge his own path without being used in their games. Am thrilled to pieces that you love Alien Abduction best of all, as that duality is very much at the heart of that story. So, thank you again a MILLION for reading, and especially for your amazingly long and in-depth feedback. I can’t explain how happy it made me. Oh, and I’m working on the next chapter of ‘Dating’, so you should see that within the next week or so.
This series is pure awesome. I've read it all twice now and can't wait to read more.
Author's Response: Squeeee! *dances and hugs you* You\'re in luck that this \'verse currently eating my head, so I shall update as quickly as I can (which isn\'t all that quickly, as I work fulltime & have a family etc), but I promise to keep at it. Have currently got the Seeker\'s life planned out to the Fourth regeneration, so there\'s PLENTY more stories to come. Hope you\'re happy to stick around for a few years... <3
This is a really good series. I love it. I'm not a fan of AU usually, but I just love it.
Author's Response: Thank you *so* much! I am ridiculously fond of my little pocket universe, and it always thrills me to pieces when others grow to love it too! <3
Okay, I'm now officially going to have to ration my visits to your stories because they are like popcorn. Would have never thought that this AU would work, but it's wonderful.
I wonder if there'd be any way to work in Jenny at some point? There's so little good Jenny fic out there - I'd be interested in seeing what you might do with her. (My theory is that the TARDIS facillitated Jenny's creation so that after the Doctor dies for the last time, the TARDIS could still keep going).
Author's Response: Squee! I am popcorn! \\o/ And I agree that the idea seems very odd, but it sort of took me by surprise and just... evolved. And as for Jenny, then, well... *coughs discreetly and points towards http://elisi.livejournal.com/348251.html* Pure, unadulterated crack btw.
Everything in this series is precious and (in my world) plausible to the characters. I read it all in one sitting. Worth every second.
Author's Response: You have no idea how much your words mean to me! Partly I\'m hugely impressed that you read the whole thing in one go (\'cause it\'s such a sprawling \'verse, it must have taken you forever), but even more the fact that you think the characters ring true, something I\'m forever fretting about, since the world I\'m building is so far removed from canon, considering where the characters are at. Also I\'m just *ridiculously* touched that you like it, since it\'s my very own little \'verse and I\'m entirely too fond of it. Thank you so, so much!
