The Tenth Doctor, Martha Jones, Jack Harkness, and others aboard the Valiant are not the only ones who still remember The Year That Never Was. A young man dropping acid on a rooftop on Venice Beach in 1965 is about to take a trip on which he never bargained. It all begins one night when the TARDIS, with the Ninth Doctor and Rose Tyler inside of it, crashes a few yards from him on the same rooftop. (NOTE: For the Ninth Doctor, this story happens in between Father’s Day and The Empty Child. For the Tenth Doctor’s era, this is at the beginning of The Sound of Drums. The final chapter of the story takes place between Voyage of the Damned and Partners in Crime.)

Prompted by a cryptic passage in one of Jim Morrison's poetry books, The Lords and the New Creatures, the Tenth Doctor travels to 1967 Los Angeles to pay Jim a visit. The Doctor finds, however, that Jim is in agony as a result of being slapped with the time vortex. Can he help Jim? A continuation from my story "The Lords and the New Creatures"...yet more fictional explanations for real-life events.
