A trip to explore some ancient ruins becomes a fight for survival when the Doctor and Rose land in Ferelden during the Fifth Blight. Separated from the TARDIS, they find refuge in the isolated port town of Gwaren. There they meet Darrian Tabris, a survivor of the offensive at Ostagar, and Lilian, a proud and headstrong resident of Gwaren, both of whom are chafing under the lawlessness of the town since it was abandoned by its ruler. As the monstrous horde of darkspawn continues to approach, the Doctor and Rose find themselves trying to save an entire town from a threat that can only be stopped by an order of warriors that has been all-but eradicated.
